ACA Tournament Formats and Dates - 2018/2019

There have been significant changes in the Auckland District Tournaments.  

The biggest change will be to move away from year-group teams, to age-group teams. 

What does this mean? 
New teams will be formed for under-14, 15, 16, 17, 18 and 19 age groups.  There are still tournaments for Year 7 and Year 8, but for all other year groups, the formats have changed to age groups.  The cut-off birth date is the 1st of September.  As an example, if your child turns 15 after the 1st of September, they are eligible to play for the under-15 team and not the under-16 team.

ACA is only allowing one team per tournament from the respective districts.  In the past Harbour always had two teams per year group, but this will not be part of the new format.  All players will ONLY be allowed to play in ONE tournament. So a Year 8 player cannot play in the Year 8 and under-14 tournaments. 

There is also a new player eligibility clause for the tournaments.  All players who played for Harbour during the 2017/2018 season in Year 9 and up, are automatically eligible to play for Harbour.  If a player from another district wants to join Harbour this season, a special dispensation can be requested from ACA.  Eligibility is based on where a player played their junior cricket. If the majority of a player’s junior cricket (Years 6, 7 and 8) was with a specific club, that club is the player’s ‘Club of Origin’, and cannot change.  Any players that played Harbour in Year 7 and 8, but have a club of origin that is not one of the Harbour-affiliated clubs, need to apply for a dispensation. Please contact Harbour Cricket Association before the 24th June 2018 to do so.

Age Group Girls

• Girls u14  T20 - 19th December 2018 (Te Atatu Park - Artificial)
• Girls u15  T20 - 19th December 2018 (Te Atatu Park - Grass)

Age Group Boys

• Boys u14 T40 - 8th January 2019 (Metro Park - Grass)
• Boys u15 T40 - 9th January 2019 (Waikaraka Park - Grass)

• Boys u16 T40 - 12th December 2018 (Waikaraka Park - Grass)
• Boys u17 T40 - 12th December 2018 (Waikaraka Park - Grass)
• Boys u18 T40 - 12th December 2018 (Waikaraka Park - Grass)

Age Group Boys T20
